CREATIVE MUSIC CENTER I OPENING CMC Opens with Day-Long Jam Session
Creative Music Center recently christened its new 5,100-square-foot store with a jam session — an especially long jam session.
The Monroe, Conn.-based, full-line retailer held the “World’s Longest Jam,” beginning at 9 a.m. and ending around 8:45 p.m. Among the performers were the local Masuk High School orchestra and the Fairfield County Jazz Guild, a grassroots organization made up of musicians from all over Fairfield County and New York to encourage teenagers to play jazz.
During the event, Creative Music Center also donated a brand-new Bach TR500 trumpet to HornsForKids, a non-profit organization that refurbishes and donates horns to underprivileged kids.
Creative Music Center’s new store, which officially opened Dec. 1, 2007, features 10 state-of-the-art music lesson rooms and a multi-purpose room for small concerts and recording sessions. The facility was built from the ground up by Liz Reisman, Creative Music Center’s director.
