In June, West Music’s Moline, Ill., location boosted its curb appeal by hosting the Fourth Annual Parking Lot Jam. More than 30 student bands performed in front of the store, with teachers and West staff joining in. The event boasted record attendance, with more than 425 spectators and more than 65 total performers.

People gathered in lawn chairs and on blankets for the four-hour program. They were treated to brats and pulled pork, courtesy of Smokin’ Joez Lazy Dog Barbeque.

“This was an incredible show,” said Heather McGriff, West Music’s Moline conservatory coordinator and the Parking Lot Jam director. “The students and teachers spent countless hours preparing for this event, in addition to their weekly lesson programs. The jam gives the students a fun reason to stick with their lessons through the summer.”
