Blues Angel Music Opens Alabama Location

Pensacola, Florida-based Blues Angel Music opened a new location in Spanish Fort, Alabama, Nov. 24, 2018. Although Blues Angel Music's flagship has relocated within Pensacola, this is the retailer's first time opening an additional location.

"Over the last couple of years, we noticed we were attracting more and more customers from across the Alabama state line," said owner Jim DeStafney. "What we found was there was not a full-line music instrument store like ours in the area."

At 8,000 square feet, the Spanish Fort location is smaller compared to the 15,000-square-foot Pensacola store, and the size of the new space reflects a different approach the owners of Blues Angel Music are taking with the second location.

"We wanted to bring Blues Angel Music to Spanish Fort but in a different way," said co-owner Nan DeStafney. "The new location is just over half the size of our Pensacola store, but we wanted to do all of the same things, so we went with a more modern, streamlined concept."

The new store is in a new territory, which opened up new product possibilities for Blues Angel Music, including the chance to carry Martin guitars — a brand the store has not been able to carry in Pensacola. The new location also carries most of the product lines offered in Pensacola, including Fender, Eastman, Taylor, Breedlove, Yamaha drums and pianos, Roland, E.K. Blessing, Buffet, Gemeinhardt and more.
