Ted Brown Music Celebrates 95 Years with June Event
This year marks the 95th anniversary of Ted Brown Music, based in Tacoma, Washington. The Ted Brown Music Company, originally founded by Ted Brown in 1931, has remained family-owned for four generations.
From the Great Depression and World War II to present day, helping musicians and fostering the musical community in Washington state has been Ted Brown Music’s guiding principle. As the business now enters its 95th year, its mission remains the same. From retail sales, repair and commercial AVL installation to lessons, school services, and rentals, Ted Brown Music offers a wide variety of services for musicians in Washington.
“I’m proud to carry on the legacy my grandfather began 95 years ago,” said Whitney Brown Grisaffi, president and third generation owner of Ted Brown Music. “I feel humbled by our musical community here in Washington.I’m rejuvenated daily by them and by being able to help grow music and the access to music for everyone.”
“Reaching 95 years as a family-owned company is both rewarding and motivating, and it reinforces our commitment to keep earning the trust of our local music community every day through service and support,” said Garrison Grisaffi, educational services director of Ted Brown Music and fourth-generation employee.
Now with six stores throughout the state, Ted Brown Music has been part of the fabric of the music community in Washington since its inception, becoming the largest, legacy full-service, family-owned retail music chain in Washington state. To celebrate this milestone achievement, Ted Brown Music will host a party at each location on Saturday, June 27. The event will feature a food truck at each location, free live music and demos from Ted Brown Music staff. The stores will also be offering special discounts store-wide.
