SFM Donates 30 Alvarez Guitars to Le Festif! à l’École

SFM, in partnership with Alvarez Guitars, has announced it has donated 30 Alvarez guitars to Le Festif! à l’École — an educational and philanthropic venture of Le Festif! De Baie St-Paul, an annual performing arts festival in Quebec.

Since 2018, Le Festif! à l’École has brought renowned Quebecois artists into elementary and high schools throughout the province. Students are given the opportunity to meet these musicians, participate in songwriting workshops, learn about the singer-songwriter profession and take in a performance. The program encourages students to get involved in the musical and cultural life within their community.

For the third consecutive year, Montreal-based SFM has donated a selection of Alvarez acoustic guitars, which will be handed out to 30 of the schools visited by the program. The guitars will allow young musicians inspired by the program to have easier access to quality instruments while cultivating their artistic talent.

“We are delighted to once again support this incredible initiative,” said Erik Lind, manager of SFM’s Musical Instruments Business Unit. “Encouraging musical and artistic creativity among our young people is such an important mission, and Le Festif! à l’École has been doing a fantastic job in that regard.”

From October 2022 to April 2023, 50 elementary and high schools across Quebec will be visited by artists, which will include Jay Scott, Alaclair Ensemble, Qualité Motel, Koriass, Sara Dufour, Les Deuxluxes, Claudia Bouvette, Elliot Maginot, Lou-Adriane Cassidy, Émile Bilodeau, Rymz, Les Louanges, Samian, Les Hay Babies and Ariane Roy.
