Seymour Duncan Names New CEO

Marc DiLorenzo

Seymour Duncan has announced that Marc DiLorenzo has joined the company as CEO.

“Marc is a proven business leader with a track record of building deeper connections between brands and their customers,” said Cathy Carter Duncan, chair of Seymour Duncan. “His passion for guitars and the Seymour Duncan brand also make him an excellent fit for our culture. We’re excited to have Marc’s leadership as we work to serve new generations of musicians.”

“As a lifelong guitarist who’s used Seymour Duncan pickups for decades, I have tremendous affection for the brand, and I’m honored to join this world-class team,” DiLorenzo said. “Seymour Duncan has been helping musicians find their tone for over 45 years. I’m excited to lead the next chapter of our growth, as we pursue new and innovative ways to inspire musicians.”

Prior to joining Seymour Duncan, DiLorenzo held a number of senior roles in creative industries, as well as financial services. He spent nearly 20 years at 21st Century Fox, serving as chief strategy officer for its film and television businesses, and driving the development of its direct-to-consumer offerings. At Citigroup, DiLorenzo served as chief operating officer of the firm’s private banking division. In addition, DiLorenzo has worked as a professional musician composing score for film and television, and recently founded a digital livestream community that connects renowned guitarists with their fans.

DiLorenzo will be based at Seymour Duncan’s world headquarters in Santa Barbara, California.
