RPMDA Canceled Due to Coronavirus

The Retail Print Music Dealers Association announced today that it is canceling the 2020 RPMDA Convention, which had been scheduled April 30-May 3, in New Orleans, due to concerns over the coronavirus.

“On behalf of the board, we want to thank you for the support and words of encouragement that have been shared during this turbulent time,” RPMDA President David Jahnke said in a statement. “Your overwhelming support and ‘If you have it, we will come’ mentality just confirms that our association is strong and filled with the most positive-minded people in the industry. We know that everyone is all too aware of the reasons for our decision to cancel. Our world is changing daily and until things simmer down, everyone needs to focus on the health and well-being of their family, friends, businesses and employees at home.”

The convention’s offsite event had been the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on May 2. The association stated that it was working with festival officials to arrange for ticket refunds for its registered attendees.

RPMDA 2021 had been set for Montreal, Canada, but may now move to New Orleans.
