Positive Grid’s Robert McCullar to Retire

Positive Grid has announced the retirement of Robert McCullar, effective August 31, after more than 10 years leading the company’s global sales and business development efforts as senior vice president of sales. Over the past several decades, McCullar has earned a reputation for leading and developing businesses in the music products industry, particularly in retail, distribution, sales leadership, channel development and brand transition.

He began his career working at his father’s full‑line retail music store, followed by a decade as a regional sales representative. He then joined Hermes Music, where he developed and managed distribution relationships with major music products manufacturers. That experience laid the groundwork for a 10‑year tenure at Korg USA as national sales manager. There, he oversaw a broad portfolio of musical instruments, developed and nurtured national retailer relationships, and led a sales team through a period of significant growth in multiple product categories.

McCullar then served as director of sales at Line 6, where he worked with the company and its dealers to navigate new approaches to guitar amplification such as amp modeling. After a subsequent chapter outside the MI sector where he led major turnarounds of corporate and B2B sales for several leading gifting brands, he returned to the music products industry.

For the past 10 years, McCullar served as senior vice president of sales for Positive Grid. During that time, he managed the build‑out of the company’s global sales footprint, expanded the brand’s reach into multiple new markets, and established a modern B2B structure that materially strengthened the company’s overall business.
