Musik Wein Acquires Vintage Guitars

On Sept. 25, Vintage entered a new phase as Germany MI distributor, Musik Wein GmbH, acquired the brand from its originators, John Hornby Skewes & Co. Ltd. (JHS), ahead of the JHS’s impending closure due to retirement. After 10 years as Vintage’s distributor in Germany and Austria, Musik Wein took over the entire operation and management of the brand’s fretted instruments, amplification, FX pedals, accessories and merchandise, while Santos Martinez assumed responsibility for the development, direction and lead international distribution of the JHS Classical guitar line.
Music Wein’s launch took place at the German exhibition, Guitar Summit, in Mannheim, Germany, to be followed up by a full return to The NAMM Show in Anaheim, California, in January 2027.
