Melody Mart Music to Close After 50 Years in Business
Melody Mart Music, a full-line dealership in Greensburg, Indiana, is set to close after more than 50 years, according to local radio station WRBI. The store has been a fixture on the south side of Greensburg Square since 1970.
Owner Brad Douglas told WRBI that he started a second business, Designed Sound and Video, in 1990 which has experienced tremendous growth, while Melody Mart has struggled to find qualified staff. Moving forward, Douglas said he’ll use the music shop’s space to store sound and video equipment.
The store is expected to close permanently sometime in March.
