Korg Names New CEO, COO
Korg Inc. has announced key leadership appointments aimed at reinforcing its management foundation and guiding the company into its next chapter of growth and innovation.
Effective immediately, Miyou Kato has been appointed CEO and representative director, while Hironori Fukuda has been named COO and representative director. Together, they’ll lead Korg with a focus on strategic development, operational excellence and continued innovation in the music technology industry.
In conjunction with these appointments, Makoto Kato, has transitioned to the role of chair of the board. He’ll continue to support the executive team and provide guidance rooted in the company’s legacy and values.
These changes follow the passing of former president and CEO, Seiki Kato, in February 2025. In June 2025, Makoto Kato stepped in as president to ensure stability and continuity. After consideration and collaboration with the new leadership team, he now assumes the chairperson role to support the company’s long-term vision.
Miyou Kato, daughter of Seiki Kato, represents the third generation of the founding Kato family to lead Korg. She brings a fresh perspective and deep commitment to the company’s heritage. She’ll work alongside Hironori Fukuda, a 20-year veteran of KORG whose experience spans software engineering, product planning and executive leadership. Together, this new leadership team blends tradition, experience and forward-thinking strategy to shape the future of Korg.
