Island Music Company Hosts Icon Day
Island Music Company's owner Keith Grasso talks EVH gear at the store's Icon Day on Sept.19.
Island Music Company welcomed about 50 guitarists, Eddie Van Halen (EVH) fans and music lovers to Icon Day at its store on Sept. 19. The event celebrated Fender’s specialty brands and its centerpiece was an interactive guitar clinic, led by clinician and Island Music Company owner Keith Grasso. Grasso showcased a wide range of EVH products including the EVH Hypersonic amplifier and he debuted the new EVH Wolfgang 2015 Tour Relic guitar.
Grasso walked the audience through his gear, tone and approach to the guitar, and he took questions throughout. Attendees came with questions about sound, setup and technique. A number of customers left with new equipment, helped along by Icon Day sale pricing on Fender’s specialty brands: Jackson, Charvel, Gretsch and EVH.

“A huge thank you to everyone who came out,” Grasso said. “Seeing the room filled with players, EVH fans, students, customers and fellow guitar enthusiasts made this experience incredibly special. Being able to share my passion for Eddie Van Halen’s playing, gear, tone and approach to the guitar right here at Island Music was an absolute honor. Events like this matter to us because they give local musicians, and especially our students, the chance to learn up close, ask questions and get inspired in a way that goes beyond the lesson room. That’s the kind of music community we want to keep building.”
