Former President of Ward-Brodt Passes Away

Janet Faulhaber

Janet Faulhaber, former president of Ward-Brodt Music in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, passed away on June 17, just three weeks short of her 102nd birthday.

Faulhaber became president of Ward-Brodt Music upon the death of her husband, Charles Faulhaber, in 1969. She was well-known by local musicians and teachers as an expert in instrumental print music and was often called to do extensive research for hard-to-find publications. In 1973, her son Michael “Mick” Faulhaber joined the company, and they grew the business together until her retirement in 2015.

She was involved in many national and local music organizations and received the print music industry’s highest honor from the Retail Print Music Dealer Association (RPMDA). She was an avid reader and traveled much of the world. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Thomas) Schmelzer, of The Villages, Florida; son, Michael (Anne), of Fitchburg; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, two sisters, a brother, and a great-grandchild.
