Conn Selmer Announces Leadership Changes

John Fulton

Conn Selmer has announced updates to its sales and service organization. These changes are designed to drive superior dealer sales and service, ensuring greater global alignment with customer needs and accelerating the implementation of efficient, customer-centric processes.

John Fulton has been named senior vice president. Fulton’s expanded role includes overseeing sales and customer service for the Americas and Asia Pacific, the Division of Education (DOE) and marketing, as well as operations in China. His leadership aims to drive strategic growth across these diverse areas while ensuring exceptional service and alignment with customer needs.

With a 27-year career that spans retail sales, and executive leadership, Fulton has dedicated his career to advancing the music industry. Since joining Conn Selmer eight years ago, he has played a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives and fostering growth.

Shane Deuel has joined Conn Selmer as vice president, dealer sales — with 20 years of industry experience, including 10 years as a sales leader with Eastman Musical Instruments. Deuel will report to John Fulton and oversee dealer sales for North America.

During his tenure with Eastman Musical Instruments, Shane demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic planning skills, contributing to the company’s growth. His dedication to supporting music retailers, educators, and institutions makes him an important addition to Conn Selmer’s leadership team.

Mike Kamphuis has been named vice president of education, marketing and sales. His modified role will include direct oversight of the Division of Education (DOE) and institutional sales, marketing, artist relations, and select national accounts. Reporting to Fulton, Kamphuis will focus on strengthening these areas, while continuing to foster deep relationships with Conn Selmer’s institutional and industry partners.

Sean Vega has been appointed to the role of director, sales operations. Vega’s new role will focus on improving customer service operations, developing sales enablement processes, driving impactful trade show initiatives, and driving the go-to-market strategy implementation for Conn Selmer’s new and legacy products.

“Today marks a transformative step forward for Conn Selmer as we realign our sales and service organization to better serve our valued dealers, educators, and partners,” said Steve Zapf, CEO of Conn Selmer. “With John Fulton at the helm as senior vice president, we are confident in his proven ability to drive strategic growth across diverse regions and functions.
