Bourgeois Guitars Named Maine’s 2023 Manufacturer of the Year

Lewiston Mayor Carl Sheehan announced June 2023 has been officially recorded as Bourgeois Guitars Month in recognition of the Maine-based company having been named the Manufacturer of the Year by the Manufacturers Association of Maine. This award recognizes companies with noteworthy achievements in business growth, sustainability, dedication to the community and the industry, and overall employer excellence, which disproportionately contribute to the success of Maine’s manufacturing ecosystem.

For the last 50 years Dana Bourgeois, the founder of Bourgeois Guitars, has been handcrafting guitars in his home state of Maine. The company’s dedication to craftsmanship, artistry, innovation and philanthropy has established it as a prominent figure in Maine’s manufacturing industry.

“We are honored to receive this award from Mayor Sheehan and the Manufacturers Association of Maine,” said Chris Fleming, president of Bourgeois Guitars. “And we are proud to be able to contribute to the vibrancy of our community. I want to extend our gratitude to Bourgeois Guitars’ dedicated craftspeople, the City of Lewiston, the Manufacturers Association of Maine, and the many industry partners within this great state whose exceptional talents and innovative ideas support our ability to build the best possible instruments for musicians around the world.”
