OCT. 23 I YAMAHA, MAPEX, MAJESTIC I ENVIRONMENT
Going Paperless

Yamaha Corp. of America, Mapex and Majestic have each taken steps to reduce paper waste through recent electronic initiatives.

Yamaha’s new electronic signature program streamlines the contract-signing processes and correspondence with its network of authorized piano, digital keyboard, synthesizer, woodwind, brass, guitar, drum and pro audio dealers. Using e-signatures has enabled Yamaha to manage and update all 7,000 dealer agreements almost simultaneously.

This shrinks the cycle time needed to finalize contracts from months to days and eliminates instances of unreturned contracts. Yamaha has mandated that all new authorized dealers must use e-signing for all contracts.

No-Paper PASIC
Mapex and Majestic will go paperless at this year’s Percussive Arts Society International Convention, held from Nov. 5–8 in Austin, Texas. In an effort to reduce paper waste, Mapex’s and Majestic’s catalogs will be available on a USB flash drive.

“We’re testing different options to better manage our use of printed materials,” said Derek Craig, vice president of marketing for Jupiter. “As more people shop online, there’s a trend toward electronic information, and we’re curbing our environmental impact by providing the catalogs on a reusable medium that aligns with this demand for convenience in information.” MI
