SEPT. 8 | NAMM | SUMMER SESSION
It's Austin!

NAMM has decided: the 2007 Summer Session will stay in Austin, Texas. The show will take place July 27–29 at the Austin Convention Center.

To improve the show and meet specific needs of attendees and exhibitors, NAMM plans to add several new features, which will be announced in early 2007. The changes come in response to feedback the organization received from from thousands of NAMM members before, during and after the 2006 summer show.

"The live music capital of the world delivered on its reputation and took good care of our industry this year," said Joe Lamond, president and CEO of NAMM. "The dealers who came to Austin took advantage of new products and deals from the exhibitors, networked with their peers and suppliers, and broke all NAMM University attendance records, emerging from the show better prepared for the critical fall and holiday selling months. Our industry is changing rapidly, and NAMM is looking forward to making some significant changes to this event in 2007 to increase the return on investment for buyers and sellers alike."

This doesn't mean Nashville's out entirely. Planning for the future, NAMM recently joined a coalition of companies and organizations supporting Nashville's planned "Music City Center" project. The group will meet regularly and work to build a new convention and entertainment center in downtown Nashville. "NAMM supports Nashville's growth and we look forward to the day when the city's convention and hotel room inventory once again meets our members' needs," said Kevin Johnstone, NAMM's director of trade shows.
