Martin has introduced Project 91, a limited run of 91 guitars built with Brazilian rosewood and engineered as direct, serial-numbered descendants of the original pre-war D-45s. The first four models are complete, featuring period-accurate 12-fret and 14-fret designs, style 45 appointments and vintage-correct scalloped or forward-shifted X-bracing. Each guitar includes a certificate of authenticity and a commemorative poster tied to its reference instrument, with select models offering historically specific variations, such as alternate nut widths, shaded tops, left-handed builds and dual pickguards.
