Hal Leonard sponsored two events in July celebrating Les Paul. The Wizard of Waukesha made a rare bookstore appearance at Schwartz Bookshop on Milwaukee’s East Side to autograph copies of The Early Years Of The Les Paul Legacy: 1915–1963.

Paul himself wrote the foreword to The Early Years Of The Les Paul Legacy and was integrally involved with the project, which was more than 10 years in the making.

Hal Leonard also sponsored An Evening with Les Paul and Friends at Milwaukee’s Pabst Theater. The event celebrated Paul’s 93rd birthday, which was on June 9.
Gold Circle seating at the event included admission to a private birthday party and meet-and-greet with Paul following the show, a copy of The Early Years Of The Les Paul Legacy, and a free pass to the upcoming Les Paul House of Sound exhibit at Milwaukee’s Discovery World museum. The Pabst is also the venue for the Hal Leonard Jazz series, which will commence its 17th season this winter.
