JULY 25 I NAMM I BY KATIE KAILUS
Summer NAMM Sees Increase in Attendance

Summer NAMM, held July 11-13 in Nashville, Tenn., broke in the new Music City Center and saw a 12 percent increase in attendance over last year's show. In total, 422 companies exhibited representing more than 1,150 brands. Part of the growth was also attributed to the 157 first-time exhibiting companies.

Overall, 11,498 people registered for the show, not including Saturday's public Music Industry Day.

The increase in attendance was felt by vendors on the show floor.

"There was a lot more traffic this year, which might have to do with the new building," said Chris Larpenteur, product specialist for Yamaha guitars. "We saw a steady amount of people at our booth."

"We really had an awesome show," said Antonio Ferranti, vice president of sales for Alfred Music. "We opened probably a dozen new accounts and took a great volume of orders."
