Passes Away

Wolfe Taninbaum, founder of Bari Mouthpieces, passed away on May 7. He was 95. Taninbaum was a leader in the development of synthetic reeds. He founded the Taninbaum mouthpiece company in 1952. Also in the 50's, he was hired by the CBS Radio Orchestra and followed the band to television. Later in his career, Taninbaum started the Bari Company and becoming a leader in plastic reeds. He sold the company to Super-Sensitive Strings upon his retirement.
