Robert M. Sides Family Music Acquires Haines Music

Robert M. Sides Family Music Centers recently acquired Haines Music in Selinsgrove, Pa. Haines Music owners, Pam and Nevin Garrett, are retiring after 37 years in the music business, while 25-year Haines School Service Representative Rob Ensinger will continue to serve his schools as the newest member of the Robert M. Sides team.

"My sister, Alysha, and I are absolutely thrilled to be working with someone at Rob’s level of professionalism and industry experience," said Peter Sides, president of Robert M. Sides Music. "We’re pleased he’s joining our team and continuing to service his customers. We take very seriously the responsibility of maintaining and building upon the solid reputation with customers and educators built by the Garrett family and Rob. Haines Music is a natural fit in our existing business and we look forward to serving the community's musical needs for many years to come."

Haines Music was founded in 1965 by Ward Haines who was a graduate of the Conn Repair School in Elkhart, Ind. Nevin Garrett graduated from Susquehanna University in 1974 with a degree in music education. He worked as a teacher, professional musician and instrument repair technician from 1976 until he and his wife purchased the business from Haines in 1986. In 1987, Ensinger joined the Haines team as a school service representative. Over the years Nevin, Pam and Rob grew the business, which relocated to the modern, present day facility in Selinsgrove in 1993.

Family owned and operated for over 75 years, Robert M. Sides Family Music Centers provides sales, rentals and repairs to choral, orchestral and band programs in over 300 schools in Pennsylvania and New York and will incorporate the Haines business into their 52,000 square foot headquarters in Williamsport, Pa.
