Fender President, COO Resigns
Fender Musical Instruments Corp. (FMIC) announced the resignation of Matthew Janopaul as president and COO on July 28. He will continue to work with the company into early September in a transitional role. According to a statement from FMIC, Janopaul is stepping down in order to be with family in Northern California and pursue other business opportunities.
“On behalf of everyone at FMIC, I thank Matt for his valuable contributions to this company and wish to particularly recognize his successful navigation of our recent major acquisitions,” said Bill Mendello, FMIC’s chairman and CEO. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors, and remain grateful for his service and friendship to the company.”
“I am proud to have been a part of the team that took Fender to the next level,” Janopaul said. “Today, the company is poised for great things in the coming years that will benefit both customers and employees alike. I wish Bill Mendello and the rest of the Fender family much success.”
